CATCH Implementation Funds Program

THE 2012 CALL FOR PROPOSALS IS NOW CLOSED

The 2013 CFP will be posted November 1, 2012
Submissions will be due January 31, 2013, 2:00 pm CST

The Community Access to Child Health (CATCH) Implementation Funds program supports pediatricians in the initial and/or pilot stage of developing and implementing community-based child health initiatives that increase access to medical homes or health services not otherwise available. Grants of up to $12,000 are awarded to pediatricians each year on a competitive basis.

Your Chapter CATCH Facilitator is available to help from proposal development to project implementation.

GRANTS AVAILABLE IN THE 2013 CYCLE:

  • Medical home access
  • Access to health services not otherwise available
  • Connecting uninsured/underinsured populations with available programs
  • Secondhand smoke exposure reduction
The AAP Julius B. Richmond Center of Excellence funds CATCH implementation grants that focus on reducing children's secondhand tobacco smoke (SHS) exposure, in addition to medical home access and health insurance. Proposals should focus on SHS rather than smoking cessation, and proposals must meet the eligibility and selection criteria of the CATCH Implementation Funds program.
  • Initiatives to address community barriers to immunizations*
CATCH is seeking innovative community-based projects to improve access to immunizations for children who are most likely to experience barriers.
  • Native American Child Health*
The AAP Committee on Native American Child Health has partnered with CATCH in the funding of its Native American child health grants for projects that benefit American Indian/Alaska Native (AIAN) children.
Indian Health Service (IHS) family physicians and community family physicians serving Native American children may apply in partnership with a pediatrician. According to the IHS Manual, IHS physicians may accept grants less than $100,000 and no approval is required from area or headquarters.

*Eligibility and selection criteria are the same as for the general implementation grants.
