Getting Involved
Join a Section/Council:
The primary purpose of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Sections/Councils is education. Programs developed by Sections/Councils constitute more than half of the educational programming at the AAP National Conference and Exhibition. Sections/Councils are also involved in policy development, practice guidelines, public education, and advocacy.
As a Section/Council Member, you will have the opportunity to share ideas with and learn from colleagues who share your specific interests and/or subspecialty background.
The following sections/council accept International members:

Join as an Affiliate member:
Council/Section Affiliate membership is available to those who are not eligible for AAP membership. Applicants for Council/Section Affiliation must meet the qualifications and requirements stipulated by the respective Bylaws and the AAP Board of Directors.
