The ONE Campaign
The Campaign
ONE is an international advocacy organization co-founded by the musician Bono with more than 2.5 million members worldwide. ONE’s mission is to fight extreme poverty and preventable disease, particularly in Africa, by raising public awareness and advocating for smart investments and effective policies that benefit the world’s poorest people. The AAP and ONE
AAP is partnering with ONE on global immunization financing and advocacy. The Academy’s commitment to the health of all children means that both the AAP and ONE are committed to preserving low-cost, high-impact programs that provide life-saving childhood vaccinations. This effort is reflective of a broader national partnership between ONE and AAP to focus on improving the health of children. The Academy will be partnering with ONE for advocacy events on Capitol Hill. For example, on December 8th and 9th, 2011, a group of AAP international health experts (Drs Linda Arnold, Shawn Batlivala, Lou Cooper, Margaret Fisher, Thomas McInerny, Bonnie Maldonado, and Donna Staton) joined ONE for an advocacy day on Capitol Hill followed by a day at the White House to talk with officials about why it is important to preserve America’s global health and development programs that save millions of lives all over the world.
