2013 AAP CME Schedule

|
The following CME activities are planned and implemented by the AAP Division of CME:
Practical Pediatrics CME Courses
Designed for pediatricians, family physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses and allied health professionals caring for children, Practical Pediatrics CME Courses feature nationally prominent faculty presenting topics that highlight current issues in pediatrics.
PREP® The Course
An intensive review and update of pediatrics and a unique component of the American Academy of Pediatrics overall educational program. While the course content is based on the content specifications issued by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) for Maintenance of Certification (MOC), the course also features case-based sessions, hot topics and visual diagnosis components related to the latest information on clinical practice.
Subspecialty/Section CME Courses
Appropriate for the pediatric subspecialist or the general pediatrician with a particular interest in the topic.
AAP National Conference & Exhibition
The AAP National Conference & Exhibition (AAP Experience) features educational sessions in over 60 topic areas to suit a variety of learning styles. Home to the world's largest pediatric technical exhibit, NCE showcases the latest pediatric products and services, as well as AAP educational and professional resources and programs. The NCE also provides countless premier social events, networking opportunities, and tourism packages for attendees and their families, as well as services like on-site child care and a nursing mothers' lounge.

In addition to the CME activities planned and implemented by the AAP Department of Education, the AAP directly sponsors a variety of CME activities from other departments and divisions. All directly sponsored CME activities are managed by AAP staff and abide by the AAP Direct Sponsorship requirements, the ACCME Essentials and Elements and Standards for Commercial Support and the requirements of the American Medical Association Physician's Recognition Award in granting AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Directly sponsored AAP CME activities are listed in the AAP CME Finder at: www.pedialink.org/cmefinder
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
These activities have been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit.

Joint Sponsorship
As an organization accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the American Academy of Pediatrics has elected to participate in jointly sponsored activities with AAP Chapters and Districts only. The AAP provides this service to its members who are constituents within these chapters and districts. Any jointly sponsored activity that is undertaken must be consistent with the Academy's CME mission statement.
When a Chapter or District enters into Joint Sponsorship with the AAP, they accept responsibility to carry out the ACCME and AMA PRA requirements with the same rigor by which the AAP CME activities are bound.
Activities receiving approval are listed in the AAP CME Finder at www.pedialink.org/cmefinder. These activities can be found by using "Advanced Search" and selecting "Joint Sponsored" under "Activity Type."
