  Direct and Joint Providership

In addition to the CME activities planned and implemented by the AAP Department of Education, the AAP directly provides a variety of CME activities from other departments and divisions. All directly provided CME activities are managed by AAP staff and abide by the AAP Direct Providership requirements, the ACCME Essentials and Elements and Standards for Commercial Support and the requirements of the American Medical Association Physician's Recognition Award in granting AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

As an organization accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the American Academy of Pediatrics has elected to participate in jointly provided activities with AAP Chapters and Districts only. The AAP provides this service to its members who are constituents within these chapters and districts. Any jointly provided activity that is undertaken must be consistent with the Academy's CME mission statement.

When a Chapter or District enters into Joint Providership with the AAP, they accept responsibility to carry out the ACCME and AMA PRA requirements with the same rigor by which the AAP CME activities are bound.

Direct and Joint Providership activities are listed at www.pedialink.org/cmefinder. These activities can be found by using "Advanced Search" and selecting "AAP Approved" or "Joint Provided" under "Activity Type."

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education fo physicians.
These activities have been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
