How do I submit an NRP course roster electronically?

Instructors can enter course rosters, post an upcoming course, and check on their course history by using the NRP Instructor Only Database. NRP Instructor Only Database Instructions can be downloaded for your convenience.

How do I reset my password?

The NRP Instructor Only database will allow you three attempts to access your personal information site before being locked out. If you are locked out or have difficulty using the NRP Instructor Only database, you will need to call Life Support staff at 847.434.4798.

Initializing Security Feature and Password

  1. When you log in, you will be prompted with a screen asking you to select a question from a drop down box.
    1. Next you will select a prompting question and type an answer to that question.
    2. Now you will be able to change your password. The password is case sensitive, must be at least 6 characters long and include a combination of both letters and numbers.
    3. You should review your email address and make any necessary corrections. Or, if there is no email listed, please enter an email address.
    4. Click on "save." The database will save the question, corresponding answer, and send you a verification email.

  2. On the login page, click on "Forgot Password".
    1. Enter your NRP ID# without any dashes or spaces and click "submit."
    2. After you enter your NRP ID#, a screen will appear with your secret question. Type in your answer and click "submit." If you answer the question correctly, you will be given the opportunity to reset your password. You will need to type your new password twice to reduce the chance of a typing error.
    3. You will be given 3 chances to answer your question correctly. If you cannot answer your question correctly, you will be locked out of the database. If this happens, please call Life Support staff at 800.433.9016, ext 4798 or 4797, to reset your password.

Please note that you are responsible for the security of your NRP ID# and password.


How do I change my address and personal information in the database?

Use the "Instructor Database Login" button located in the footer of all of the Instructor pages on the NRP Web site. Once you click on the button, log in with your Instructor ID and password, and then click on “Update Info.”

To add a credential, click on the arrow on the drop-down box, select the appropriate credential and then click the “add” button. The new credential will appear in the display box. Repeat this step to add as many credentials as are appropriate. Type any new or revised information about your address, phone number, or e-mail address. When changing your address, please use the standard upper and lowercase format. Your e-mail address must be entered if you want to receive a response indicating the status of your submitted roster. Select your preferred mailing address by clicking the appropriate radio button. To add a language that you read or speak fluently, click on the arrow on the drop-down box, select the appropriate language, and click the “add” button. The language will appear in the display box. When adding your title to the database, you do not need to enter your credentials. Your credentials are already listed. Click the “Update” button at the bottom of the page. Your records are now updated and you will return to the “Information Summary” page.

I cannot find myself or co-instructors in the database under Find an Instructor?

You may be including too much information in the fields offered. Try using the first 3-4 letters of the first name and the same for the last name, leaving all of the other fields blank. If your name or co-instructors still do not appear, the field "Do not display my information to the public" may have been selected. To see if you had checked this box, go to Update Info in the NRP Instructor Only database. This box is the last item on the Update Info page. If you want your information displayed, uncheck the box.

Netscape, Safari, Firefox, Mozilla, and Chrome Technical Difficulties with NRP Instructor Only Database

If you are using Netscape, Firefox, Safari, Mozilla, or Chrome, you will not be able to add assisting instructors to a roster, complete an instructor roster, or use the "forgot password" feature.

You are able to add assisting instructors, complete an instructor roster, and reset your password using Microsoft Internet Explorer. We recommend using Explorer whenever possible.

If you are unable to use Explorer, complete and submit the provider roster without the assisting instructor names. After the roster is submitted, send an e-mail to requesting that our office add the assisting instructors to the roster. The email will need to include both of your names, NRP ID#'s, and the date of the course.

If you are having this problem using Explorer, clean out your "Cache" or "Internet Temporary Files." You may have a corrupted page which is causing the problem.
