Faculty Expert Panel
One goal of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Julius B. Richmond Center of Excellence is to disseminate and implement policy and best practices in pediatric tobacco control in clinical and community pediatrics to pediatricians and other health care providers.
The purpose of the AAP Richmond Center Faculty Expert Panel is to help expand outreach and education of child health clinicians by supporting brief, effective clinical interventions to reduce and eliminate children's exposure to tobacco and secondhand smoke and by supporting clinician advocates in community pediatric/public health interventions.
The Faculty Expert Panel will help the AAP Richmond Center disseminate best practices in tobacco control. This panel is comprised of individuals experienced in tobacco control. These stakeholders will utilize tools and methods to assist communities, clinicians, and other stakeholders in addressing children and family tobacco control. Our vision is that our activities will help pediatricians and other child advocates become active participants in clinical and community action to promote tobacco control, and eliminate tobacco use and exposure.
