Section on Tobacco Control

The Executive Committee of the Provisional Section on Tobacco Control would like to thank you for your interest in our section.

The Provisional Section on Tobacco Control, formed in July 2012, is a multidisciplinary section which was inspired by the success of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Julius B. Richmond Center of Excellence, which has been supporting tobacco research, policy, and education since 2006.

The Provisional Section on Tobacco Control’s mission is to raise awareness about the importance of and support for pediatricians, other physicians, and non-physician clinicians in, preventing tobacco initiation and exposure, treating dependence, and eliminating children’s exposure to secondhand smoke.

All AAP members and non-AAP members (Affiliate Members) working in tobacco control are welcome to join us in accomplishing the mission and goals of the section. Let us answer your questions as we continue this exciting phase of recruitment and strategic planning. We want to hear from you!

If you or someone you know would like to join the Provisional Section on Tobacco Control to be a strong voice in pediatric tobacco control, view our membership information for current AAP members and for Affiliate Members.
