Mission, Vision and Goals

Mission

To raise awareness about the importance of and support for pediatricians, other physicians, and non-physician clinicians in, preventing tobacco initiation and exposure, treating dependence, and eliminating children’s exposure to secondhand smoke.

 

Vision

All pediatricians and other physicians, and non-physician clinicians have the skills, materials, and confidence that they need to effectively prevent tobacco use and exposure in children and adolescents and to intervene with families and adolescents who use tobacco.

 

Goals

  1. Provide education for pediatricians, other physicians, and non-physician clinicians to prevent, treat and reduce exposure to tobacco and secondhand smoke.

  2. Develop and promote tobacco prevention and control policy and evidence-based best practices.

  3. Equip pediatricians, other physicians, and non-physician clinicians to effectively prevent, treat, and reduce exposure to tobacco and secondhand smoke.

  4. Provide education to support families in preventing, treating, and reducing exposure to tobacco and secondhand smoke.
