The Provisional Section on Tobacco Control currently welcomes all American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) members and non-AAP members (Affiliate Members) who would like to join us in accomplishing the mission and goals of our section. The Provisional Section on Tobacco Control Executive Committee is committed to making the Section a multidisciplinary collaboration. In July 2013, membership in the Section was opened to non-AAP members (Affiliate Members). We will draw from the strengths of the AAP Julius B. Richmond Center of Excellence, building initiative and energy to address the challenge that tobacco poses to children’s health. The Executive Committee is excited to work alongside others that share their same passion.
Join the Section before December 31, 2014 and receive a free new member welcome kit! Each kit contains exciting new items to help address tobacco use and secondhand smoke exposure in practice.
The Executive Committee is now accepting current AAP Members to join the provisional Section. Please note an application and Tobacco Disclosure Statement are required.
There are no dues for this new AAP section for current AAP Members.
We have expanded our professional base to include the following categories:
With the application for membership, a candidate for the Affiliate Member category of membership must submit: 1) current curriculum vitae; 2) Tobacco Disclosure Statement; 3) sponsor letter from a current Section on Tobacco Control Fellow or Specialty Fellow detailing the nominee’s involvement in tobacco control; and 4) Copy of license, certification or diploma (where applicable).
Annual dues for Affiliate Members is $20.
