2012 Award Recipient - Joel Frader, MD, MA, FAAP

Joel Frader, MD, MA, FAAP is A Todd Davis Professor of Academic General Pediatrics and Professor of Medical Humanities and Bioethics at Northwestern University. His interests include: end-of-life care for children; innovation and research in surgery and clinical trials; bioethics of transplantation; and children with intersex and sexual identity confusion. He has served in leadership positions for several organizations, including chairing the Committee on Bioethics of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr Frader is Division Head, Academic General Pediatrics and Primary Care at Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago His clinical activities involve supervising residents and palliative/hospice care for children.
