Advocacy Scholarships (2) Biennial

 

The purpose of this scholarship is to foster advocacy for Pediatric Emergency Medicine and the emergency care of children by supporting attendance at the AAP Legislative Conference in Washington, DC. ($1,000)

 

Best Abstract (1)
Annual

 

Presented to a SOCC scientific abstract presenter for Overall Best Paper Presentation in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine during the SOCC program at the AAP National Conference & Exhibition. ($500)

 

Best Physician-In-Training (1) Annual

 

Presented to a pediatric critical care fellow in training for best trainee abstract presented during the SOCC program at the AAP National Conference & Exhibition. ($200)

 

Best Nursing Abstract (1)
Annual

 

Presented to a pediatric nurse for best abstract presented during the SOCC program at the AAP National Conference & Exhibition. ($200)

 

Distinguished Career (1)
Annual

 

Intended to recognize an SOCC member and senior leader in the field of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine who has contributed to the subspecialty for 15 years or longer for significant career accomplishments. The award is presented during the SOCC program at the AAP National Conference & Exhibition. ($1,000)

 

Pediatric Academic Societies SOEM Best Abstract (1) Annual

 

Presented to a Section on Emergency Member scientific abstract presenter for Overall Best Paper Presentation in Pediatric Emergency at the Pediatric Academic Societies Annual Meeting. ($500)

 

Small Project Grant (1)
Annual

 

Small grants for young investigators for projects devoted to education in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and outcomes of quality and safety initiatives in the PICU. Fellows or junior faculty (5 years or less after completion of fellowship) are eligible for awards of up to $3,000 for one year. SOCC membership is not required, but applications from members will receive preference.

 

Travel Grants (3)
Annual

 

Up to 3 travel grants will be awarded to Pediatric Critical Care Medicine trainees (Fellows and Residents) and nurses with the highest scoring abstracts submitted for presentation during the SOCC program at the AAP National Conference & Exhibition. Abstract submissions focusing on patient safety, education, and quality outcomes are encouraged. The travel grants are intended to support conference travel expenses. ($1,000)
