The Section on International Child Health is committed to improving the health and well being of the world's children. This will be accomplished by addressing the needs of children and those who are dedicated to improve their health and well being through education, service, advocacy and the facilitation of effective global partnerships

The Section on International Child values and respects the inherent value of all children and their families as well as all those who assist in improving their lives. It is committed to leadership, education and advocacy for the rights of children and the shared responsibility of pediatricians worldwide for the health and well-being of children.

The Section on International Child Health will create a network that facilitates communication, collaboration and assistance with all those who seek to improve the health of all children. To accomplish this Vision the members of the Section will possess the knowledge, tools and skills to:

  1. Educate colleagues on the needs and priorities of all children;
  2. Provide materials, hospitality and assistance to those working to improve child health;
  3. Advocate for the health, rights and well being of the world’s children. The Section will provide service, support, and counsel to the American Academy of Pediatrics on international health issues.
