MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Section on International Child Health (SOICH) is to promote and lead efforts to help children throughout the world attain optimal physical, mental and social health and well-being.

The Section will prepare and empower its members to make meaningful contributions to global child health through high quality education and training, effective partnerships and collaborations, and staunch advocacy for the world's children.

CORE VALUES

We believe:

  • The rights and needs of children are universal;
  • Global child health should be a global priority;
  • Pediatricians play a unique and critical role in advocating for the world's children;
  • Strong global partnerships can help improve the lives of children everywhere.

VISION STATEMENT

A world in which all children are safe, secure, and well-nourished, with access to quality healthcare, education, and the opportunity to develop to their full potential.

Pediatricians everywhere develop the knowledge and skills required to address children's needs and collaborate with governments and organizations that plan and provide health care, in order to optimize children's health and well-being.
