The Programming committee plans educational activities and events at our meetings. This includes preparing and submitting proposals for section programs and planning section events at the AAP National Conference and Exhibition (NCE) and the ACP’s annual Internal Medicine meeting.
Academics and Education
Chair: Michael Donnelly, MD, FACP, FAAP
Every year at each of the annual meetings (American Academy of Pediatrics in fall, American College of Physicians in spring), the med-peds section is allowed to sponsor section programs. Some programs have an emphasis for the med-peds community and some have an emphasis for the larger categorical community. Programs are planned two years in advance. We are always interested in incorporating you as a speaker, your ideas and your talents. Please send an e-mail and we will get you and/or your ideas on the list.
Section programs for the American Academy of Pediatrics are generally 3- 4 hours in duration and section programs for the American College of Physicians are generally 60-90 minutes in duration.
We encourage section members to submit programs outside of the sponsored section program(s) but encourage you to discuss and send a proposal to the chair so that we can help advocate for your program entry.
There is a section reception during each of the annual meeting and encourage you to attend and invite alumni from your med-peds residency program.
