Projects

PROJECTS

EMS Subspecialty Certification:  The American Board of Emergency Medicine announced that a new subspecialty certification in EMS has been created, and applications from physician certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties (which includes the American Board of Pediatrics) who meet the requirements will be accepted beginning in the Fall of 2012, with the first examination offered in 2013.  The EMS Subcommittee is working on defining how PEM physicians with EMS experience can successfully apply for this new board certification, and how PEM physicians may become eligible for certification once required EMS fellowship training will be the only pathway available after 2019.

EMS Issue in Clinical Pediatric Emergency Medicine (CPEM):  The EMS Subcommittee has been asked to coordinate authors for an issue of CPEM focused on pediatric EMS, in conjunction with the 30th anniversary of the EMSC program.  To suggest topics for this issue or volunteer to be an author, contact Dr. Joe Wright
