"Sailing in Uncharted Waters: Innovators in Pediatric Emergency Medicine"
The SOEM Committee for the Future (C4F) is organizing another great program for the morning of October 10, 2014, at the AAP National Conference & Exhibition in San Diego. The session’s focus will be innovation in Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM). Since this poster session continues to be highly successful, we will be repeating it this year – the last hour of the morning will be dedicated to posters and displays encouraging interaction with individuals interested in sharing their innovations including brief presentations by the top rated abstracts.
The C4F is now accepting abstracts/proposals for posters or displays from individuals and groups with innovations in PEM. Abstracts should be 300 words or less and describe a novel innovation in PEM. Topics may include, but are not limited to, ED management, clinical care models, clinical/educational programs and clinical care tools/procedures. Submissions need not conform to the usual Background, Methods, Results, Conclusions template, but should be well-written and able to convey a general sense of the novelty and importance of the innovation. Please include how it can be applied by other PEM providers and any identified advantages/challenges.
Abstracts will be judged by C4F members on their creativity, information content and ability to inspire further innovation in PEM. Authors of accepted abstracts will be given the opportunity to display or demonstrate their innovation during the poster session. Demonstration of outcome data is valuable but not required. The final poster/display should be organized and clear but also does not need to abide by the usual scientific poster concept. We encourage creativity.
Please email submissions to Steven Rogers, C4F chair by 12:00pm EST, Wednesday, July 2, 2014. Questions or comments can be directed to the same email address.
