Section on Perinatal Pediatrics Membership (AAP Members)

The Section welcomes new and thanks existing members for their interest and involvement in the Section on Perinatal Pediatrics' activities and programs. The following AAP members are eligible for Section Membership: Fellows, Specialty Fellows, Post-Residency Training Fellows, Candidate Fellows, Honorary Fellows, Emeritus Fellows, Life Fellows, Corresponding Fellows, International, and Dual Fellows. Applicants must submit completed application and any necessary fees.

Non-Members Eligible for Full AAP Membership

Individuals eligible for full Academy membership must join the Academy in order to join the Section on Perinatal Pediatrics. This is accomplished by the following process:

2) Section dues are waived for all Neonatal-Perinatal Trainees.

Affiliate Membership


Medical professionals with expertise in Neonatal-Perinatal medicine are eligible for Section Affiliate membership. Eligible candidates include:

  • Licensed physicians (DOs and MDs) who are not otherwise eligible for membership in the American Academy of Pediatrics but who have a special interest in Perinatal Pediatrics
  • Licensed healthcare providers practicing in fields associated with perinatal pediatrics (such as nurses, advanced nurse practitioner, nurse midwives, social workers, respiratory therapists)

International Section Membership


An applicant who desires to become an International Member must:

  • have received an MD or DO or an equivalent degree from a medical school located outside of the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada; and
  • reside and practice medicine or engage in other professional activities to the benefit of children outside of the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada; and
  • either be a member in good standing of a local pediatric society which has been recognized by the International Pediatric Association or be sponsored by an FAAP.


Full Section Membership (AAP members) = $85

Trainee Section (AAP members)

Residency and Fellowship = FREE

Section Affiliate = $85

International = $45
